    Excerpt
Fisherfolk in Guimaras will receive with more than P10 million in assistance from the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) office for Western Visayas in May. BFAR Regional Director Remia A. Aparri said the distribution will form part of the activities of Guimaras’ annual Manggahan Festival. Each of the five municipalities of Guimaras will receive 50 20-foot fiberglass boats, she said. The towns will also receive rainwater harvester and seaweed farm implements. Guimaras is a major producer of seaweed in the region. Last week, BFAR released around P 10 million worth of projects to fisherfolk in Aklan, Antique, Iloilo and Capiz during the regional sortie of Piñol.
