DOST-PCAARRD supports MSU-Marawi hatchery to boost Giant Prawn R&D

In a significant stride towards advancing the research and development initiatives for Giant Prawn (Macrobrachium rosenbergii), the Mindanao State University (MSU)–Marawi Campus has successfully completed the enhancement of its hatchery complex.
This was achieved through funding support from the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-PCAARRD). The upgraded facility situated at the College of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences of MSU was inaugurated on March 1, 2024. Present during the ceremony were Engr. Wilmar Lastimosa and Engr. Joseph Saluta of the DOST-PCAARRD Institution Development Division (IDD) as well as Dr. Adelaida Calpe, Director of the DOST-PCAARRD Inland Aquatic Resources Research Development (IARRD), and staff Geraldin Mae Olaer and Janet Jane Valguna.
