The Samar Sea Alliance through an agreement with fishing boat operators has Samar Sea declared as Close Season in the months of April, May, July and August. This measure, to prohibit commercial fishing boats to fish in Samar Sea is to ensure that its marine resources can regenerate and increase its biomass. This means that from 2.88 mt/sqkm the biomass will turn to 4 to 5 mt/sqkm, said Johnny Meniano of the Samar Office of the Provincial Agriculturist. Biomass is the gauge of the fish yield per square kilometer.en
