A fishing vessel ran aground off Paluan town’s coastal waters in Occidental Mindoro, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) reported on Sunday, Sept. 28. Fishing boat “Jishun 2” departed Barangay Tayamaan in Mamburao town on Sept. 23 but was met by tall waves, heavy rains, and strong winds due to Severe Tropical Storm “Opong”, an investigation showed. The master of the vessel decided to seek shelter in the nearby Sitio Pamustusin, Barangay Harrison, approximately 44 kilometers from Barangay Tayamaan.en
