    Excerpt
There are no more illegal dump sites in Sasmuan and no more garbage on the riverbanks along Pampanga River going out to Manila Bay. Sasmuan Mayor Nardo Velasco confirmed this yesterday after he personally led the massive clearing operations and the permanent closure of the illegal dump site at the Sasmuan riverbanks to ensure the smooth and unhampered flow of water from the waterways along Pampanga river to Manila Bay. The immediate clearing operation was conducted after Governor Lilia Pineda saw the tons of garbage at the illegal dump site located at the Sasmuan riverbank, when she made an inspection a week ago on the dredging operations of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) along the Pampanga River channel of Mani Manila Bay.
