Hundreds of fisherfolk from the coastal town of Manjuyod and Bais City in this province are asking government for a thorough investigation of the fish kill in waters here, which they claim has gravely affected their source of livelihood. In their letter of compliant to Community Environment and Natural Resources Officer (CENRO) Aniceto Aquino based here, the Alangilan United Fisherfolks Association (AUFA) headed by Segundo KAdusale and the Alangilan Small Fisherfolks Association (ASFA) headed by George Llanera said their daily collective fish catch has been severley reduced due to suspected liquid waste from the United Robina Sugar Milling Corporations (URSUMCO) ethanol plant in the area. The complainants further claim that most of the seaweed culture operators in the area have ceased operating because of the fish kill.en
