    The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Central Visayas (BFAR 7) is preparing the turnover of its multi-species marine hatchery located in the town of Bantayan to the local government unit (LGU). BFAR 7 Regional Director Mario Ruinata met with incoming Bantayan Mayor Orlando Layese on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, to finalize the transfer of the legislated hatchery to the Bantayan LGU, which will now take over its operations starting January 1, 2026.
