What began as an initiative to protect marine life has expanded to a sustainable livelihood opportunity, transforming seaweed into a line of unique products. From Siquijor’s rich seaweed resources, the Maite Resources and Development Association (MRDA) initially experimented with producing seaweed sticks and slowly expanded to other products such as cassava binangkal with seaweed, cassava chips with seaweed, and seaweed cookies and chips.
