The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) warned consumers to avoid shellfish collected from the coastal waters of Mambuquiao and Camansi in Batan, Aklan. Earlier, BFAR has also raised a red tide alert in Sapian Bay, which covers Ivisan and Sapian towns in Capiz province. In a Sept. 11 shellfish bulletin, BFAR said the waters in these areas are still positive for paralytic shellfish portion that is beyond the regulatory limit.en
