At least 2,839 fishermen in six Pampanga towns who were affected by recent fish kill received a total P4.2 million cash and food assistance from the provincial government. Vice governor Dennis Pineda led the distribution of the food assistance worth P2, 839, 000 and cash assistance amounting to P1, 419, 500 to the beneficiaries from Candaba (490); 147 from San Luis (147); San Simon (556); Masntol (650); Macabebe (254) and Apalit (742). Pineda said the food and cash assistance will help alleviate the suffering of the fishermen.
