local.seafdecaqd.extract | Twelve Filipino fishermen were recently apprehended by Malaysian authorities after they were caught illegally fishing off Tanjung Pantau-Pantau, Semporna. Reports quoted a ranking official of the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) as saying that the Filipinos were arrested after patrol boat sighted their vessel in the east coast of Sabah Saturday afternoon. According to MMEA enforcement chief Captain Anor Jaafar, only three crew members were initially found on the boat. However, he said after a thorough check, nine other individuals were discovered hiding under canvas sheets. | en |
