The Iloilo River Esplanade received the 2024 Asian Townscape Award (ATA) on November 18 in Fukuoka, Japan, for its exemplary landscape construction and contribution to sustainable urban development. The award was accepted by Iloilo City Planning and Development Office head Ronald Cartagena. Spanning over 9 kilometers and connecting five of Iloilo City’s seven districts, the Esplanade is the country’s longest linear park. It comprises 13 sections linked by 11 bridges, with ongoing expansions.
