We senior citizens recall that era when our men and women in Congress would deliver privilege speeches holding the President accountable for unconstitutional and unlawful acts. Those were the pre-martial days in the 1950s and ‘60s when the Senate and the House of Representatives performed their “check and balance” role under a truly democratic government. Today, with the exception of a half-hearted few, our senators and congressmen would rather lick the boots of the President for personal benefit.
