Toxics watchdog group EcoWaste Coalition has assailed the unremitting sale of spray paints with added lead, a chemical banned in the manufacture of paints and similar surface coatings. “The unlawful sale of lead-containing spray paints continues unabated despite the issuance of a government advisory more than a year ago that ‘sternly warned’ establishments from distributing and selling such dangerous products,” observed Thony Dizon, Chemical Safety Campaigner, EcoWaste Coalition.
