The P10-Million mangrove reforestation project as part of the National Greening Program (NGP) was launched recently by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources of the Autonomous Region in Muslin Mindanao (ARMM-DENR) in tandem with Sulu District Rep. Habib Tupay Loong. The NGP will plant some 1.5 million hectares for a period of six years from 2011 to 2016, in forestlands, mangrove and protected areas, ancestral domains, civil and military reservations, urban areas under the greening plan of the LUGs, inactive and abandoned mine sites and other suitable lands, said Sulu First District Community Environment and Natural Resources Officer (CENRO) Kadra D. Annil.
