    Excerpt
The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) is planning to put up markers that will symbolize the country’s sovereignty in the West Philippine Sea (WPS) as China reportedly maintains a “massive” scale of militia force in the disputed water. Contingents of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Batanes Mission were welcomed by PCG band, troops led by Admiral Artemio Manalo Abu, PCG Commandant, after arriving on board the BRP Gabriela Silang at Pier 13 of the Manila Port Area, on Dec. 12, 2022. The unit completed a mission to install navigational lanterns in Batanes Islands. The PCG installed lanterns at four critical lighthouses of the Batanes Group of Islands, namely Sabtang, Mahatao, Ivana, and Valanga.
