    Excerpt
Water supply is the most important factor to consider in determining the sustainability of the fishpond site. It should be adequately supplied and available the whole year round. Water should be moved in and out of the pond system if possible by gravity without additional power input. For example, water enters the pond during high tide, and drain out during low tide.
