The senior staff of the research and training divisions of the SEAFDEC Aquaculture Department (SEAFDEC AQD), in a letter to President Marcos declaring support for their present chief Dr. Flor Lacanilao requested the President to reconsider his nomination for the appointment of a new chief of the AQD by the SEAFDEC council at its 15th meeting in Tokyo by the end of the month. The letter to the President signed by no less than 90 percent of the senior research and training staff of the department headed by its deputy chief and training division head Kunio Katsutani stated in part.
