Breakthroughs in prawn, milkfish, big head carp and seabass research were cited as the principal achievements of the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center Aquaculture Department (Seafdec-AQD) in a report submitted last week to new Agriculture and Food Minister Ramon V. Mitra by Seafdec-AQD officials. Dr. Alfredo C. Santiago Jr., AQD head, said that the research breakthrough in prawn was the completion of the life cycle of prawns in captivity.
