Hatching marine finfish eggs in controlled conditions allows them a greater chance to survive and grow into the fingerling stage. Studies and laboratory experiments conducted by the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center Aquaculture (SEAFDEC-AQD) show a 30% to 50% survival rate of finfish larvae.
