    Excerpt
The fast-growing bighead carp from China was introduced for the first time yesterday in Bicol during a unique lake-seeding activity in honor of the President's 68th birthday. Sponsored by ranking Bicolano career officials in the Office of the President, the "Alay ng Pangulo" (or offering to the people) featured the stocking of lakes Bato and Buhi in Camarines Sur with 20,000 carp fingerlings donated by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) and the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC).
