The Philippines and Australia are undertaking a project to develop mud crab systems in both countries. Jointly implementing the project are the University of the Philippines in the Visayas (UPV), the Iloilo-based Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center Aquaculture Department (SEAFDEC-AQD), Bribie Island Aquaculture Research Center of Queensland Primary Industries, and the Darwin Aquaculture Center Center of the Department of Primary Industry and Fisheries. The latter two are Australian institutions.
