The shrimp industry uses both wild and hatchery-reared fry. As part of the effort to rehabilitate the ailing shrimp industry, the Aquaculture Department (AQD) of the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center in Tigbauan, Iloilo has announced the schedule of its biannual training course on shrimp hatchery on September 16 to October 15. The Shrimp industry still ranks among the top 10 industry earners in terms of world production. As shrimp farmers are fond saying, " if one can produce shrimp, there is always a market for it."
