There may not be a magic pill for the tiger prawn industry, but both long-term and short-term solutions are being studied for the disease problems that continually plague the industry. "We have embarked on several projects to address the industry problems," said Dr. Rolando R. Platon, chief of the Aquaculture Department of the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (Seafdec AQD) based in Tigbauan, Iloilo, situated 23 kilometers west of here.
