In hard times when housewives complain of the escalating food prices of fish, meat and poultry products, it is a relief to discover a cheap protein alternative-molluscs. On April 22, the Technology Verification Project (TVP) of the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (Seafdec) aquaculture department in Tigbauan, Iloilo, featured a food festival in Ivisan, Capiz, utilizing mussels (tahong) and oysters as main ingredient.
