Reforms spur shrimp trade

Local shrimp producers urged lawmakers to realign current policies to attract more investors amid sustained domestic and international demand for the commodity. During the 13th Shrimp Congress of the Philippines on Tuesday, Christopher Co of the Philippine Shrimp Industry Inc. said producers are banking on government support to spur industry growth. “If we really want the shrimp industry to grow, we need to align the policies to attract more investors,” he said.
