A series of training courses has been launched to upgrade the skills of milkfish fry gatherers in five southern Iloilo towns. The lectures are conducted by the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center Aquaculture Department (SEAFDEC AQD) based in Tigbauan in Iloilo. Areas covered are milkfish fry fishery, the effects of the fry fishery on fishery resources, and the use of milkfish and some larva by-catch in aquaculture.
