Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles made the statement following the joint meeting of the Economic Development and Security, Justice, and Peace clusters to tackle issues relative to the Reed Bank incident that resulted in the sinking of the Filipino fishing vessel that endangered the lives of its 22 crewmembers who were later rescued by a Vietnamese vessel. In a statement, Nograles said the meeting was held for the protection of Filipinos, and the exercise of the Philippines' rights in its Exclusive Economic Zone.en
