The Department of Environment and Natural Resources regional office 8 (DENR-8) said that it has surpassed its 2017 mangrove plantation target in Eastern Visayas. According to the report released by the department in this city, the DENR-8 has the target area of 525 hectares to be planted with mangrove species in Eastern Visayas for 2017 with a total budget of 119,587,500.
