A Japanese fish scientist has been assigned by the Japanese government to oversee the planning and management of a Philippine-based Southeast Asian fish disease project. Dr. Kazuya Nagasawa, a fish parasite and disease expert, has been assigned to the Regional Fish Disease Project based at the government-hosted Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center Aquaculture Department (SEAFDEC AQD) in this seaside town 24 kilometers west of Iloilo City.
