With an annual growth of 10 percent for the past three years, the aquaculture industry has maintained a strong hold in securing the future of the Filipinos. Congressman Alfredo G. Marañon, Jr. of the House Subcommittee on Fisheries said this record is "unsurpassed by any other endeavor." Marañoncited that the increasing number of investors who engaged in aquaculture industry for the past 40 years proved the progress that the industry has experienced.
