The ₱2.7-billion upgrading and rehabilitation of the Navotas Fish Port Complex (NFPC) is being pushed for funding by the government instead of putting it under the private public partnership (PPP) scheme. An official said that the project, which is under the state-owned Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA) has been approved by the Investment Coordination Committee of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Board awaiting the approval of President Aquino. "It is possible this could be under financing by the government," the source said nothing that the project was supposed to be undertaken by a Chinese group but the diplomatic row between the two governments has forced the Chinese to give up the project.en
