In celebration of World Wetlands Day, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) conducted a Bird Watching Activity at Brgy. Tubigan, Zarraga. The Department wants to impart this knowledge especially among the youth that wetlands play a vital role in providing homes for countless species of animals and plants and sustain our environment and people with its ecosystems services such as water, food, medicines and many others. Wetlands are areas where the environment and the associated plant and animal life are controlled by water, like areas of marsh, fen, peat land or water, whether natural or artificial, permanent, with water that is static or flowing, fresh, brackish or salt.en
