The Department of Agriculture (DA) has prepositioned over P384 million worth of assistance for farmers and fisherfolk as Super Typhoon Uwan hit the country, the agency announced yesterday. The support includes farm inputs valued at P379.31 million for rice, corn and high-value crops; P1.24 million in animal feeds and supplements for livestock and poultry, and P771,620 worth of bangus and tilapia fingerlings. In addition, 2.57 million bags of rice from the National Food Authority are ready for distribution to local government units and other relief agencies.
