Oil spill hits Palawan

An oil spill was monitored in the vicinity waters off Puerto Princesa City Port in Palawan on Saturday, Sept. 30. In a statement on Sunday, Oct. 1, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said it deployed four segments of oil spill boom and six bails of sorbent pads to control the spillage. Two drums of undetermined volume of spilled oil were collected from the affected waters in Puerto Princesa City, which spanned 500 square meters. The spillage was contained at around 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
