The Philippines has accused the Chinese coast guard of “dangerous maneuvers” when one of its ships sailed into the path of a Philippine Coast Guard vessel carrying journalists near Ayunging Shoal, causing a near-collision. “You know, this is the kind of thing that we are hoping to avoid. But this time it was a little more dangerous, because they were close and they almost collided with us. And that will cause casualties on both sides, and that is exactly what we want to avoid,” he said.en
