    Excerpt
Some 7,000 city residents on Tuesday proclaimed the start of a multisectoral campaign to save Sampaloc Lake from extinction. Students, teachers, senior citizens, government officials and employees, and religious members fromed a three-kilometer human chain around the lake in a ceremonial event that they called "Yakap sa Lawa" (Embrace of the Lake).
