    Excerpt
The Iloilo City Environment and National Resources Office (City ENRO) said households are to be blamed for the pollution of the Iloilo River and two creeks. Engr. Noel Hechanova, City ENRO chief, said unclean and mismanaged septic tanks are the main cause of pollution in the river and the Dungon and Calajunan Creeks. A report from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) released last week revealed that the Iloilo River and the two creeks are not livable for aquatic organisms and unsafe for human activities such as swimming.
