    Excerpt
It is in this tale of fish kills and egrets that the role of political biases in engendering inconsistencies become more pointed, because it also afflicts the critics of the President. Duterte critics, for their part, lost no time in suggesting that the egrets were faked, even as they also suggest that the fish kill in Baseco was due to the crushed dolomite rocks dumped near the United States Embassy. They wanted us to believe that it is impossible for egrets to suddenly appear, even as they immediately suggest that fishkills and whitish waters at Baseco were caused by the imitation white sand from Cebu despite the fact that there has been a history of fish kills in the area.
