Recovery of the agriculture sector is expected in 2011 barring another extreme weather phenomenon, according to macroeconomic assumptions drawn up by the Development Budget Coordinating Committee. For this year, the DBCC projects as possible growth for the agriculture sector of 0.1 percent to 1.1 percent due to the effect of the drought which affected the sector in the first half of the year. The fisheries sub-sector, the DBCC said,” will benefit from the introduction of new varieties, the proliferation of mariculture parks, and continued implementation of various conservation activities.”
