local.seafdecaqd.extractAfter a much-needed rest, three green sea turtles (Chelonia mydas) were finally released back to the sea in the island-province of Guimaras Island on July 11, 2018 at SEAFDEC Igang Marine Station in Nueva Valencia town. The turtles were released back to their natural habitat after treatment which lasted for five months to more than a year. The fully-recovered green sea turtles were tagged and released by the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC) and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources–Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (DENR–PENRO) in Guimaras.en
