Having demonstrated how science-based approaches can mitigate the impacts of COVID-19, the webinar series highlighting the innovative technologies in improving aquaculture practices were set to help micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) recover from the devastating scourge of the pandemic health crisis. The Department of Science and Technology Region 6 (DOST-6), in partnership with the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center – Aquaculture Department (SEAFDEC-AQD), conducted the virtual forum presenting the topics on culture of milkfish, shrimp, and mangrove crab, reviving the seed production of the native catfish, and the nursery and grow-out culture of pompano. SEAFDEC-AQD catfish expert Rosenio Pagador presented the study on Reviving the Native Catfish. The farming of native catfish gained more interest from among the 206 participants. Pagador shared the information regarding the construction of the freshwater hatchery which includes the culture of native catfish as there is still no available native catfish fry.en
