    Tiniyak ni Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Gilbert Gapay na magpapatuloy pa rin ang pagpapatrulya ng militar sa bahagi ng West Philippine Sea (WPS). Ito ay upang mabantayan pa nang husto ng tropa ng pamahalaan territorial waters ng bansa. Sinabi ni Gapay, kahit mahigpit na ipinagbawal ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang pagsali ng Pilipinas sa anumang naval drills sa pinag-aagawang teritoryo, hindi naman umaatras ang militar sa pagbabantay sa teritoryo ng bansa.
