    Rescued baby dugong dies

    A baby dugong (Dugong dugon) died due to diarrhea at the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC) las October 4, three weeks after it was rescued. According to its official caretaker, Nilo Ramoso, biologist of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), the most probable cause of its death was dehydration due to severe diarrhea and ulceritis. Ramoso was dispatched by DENR to take care of the baby dugong.
