    Excerpt
Some 40 scientists and researchers at Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC) drove their cars around Iloilo City last Tuesday, Nov. 18, to demand the resignation of institution's chief. But SEAFDEC's aquaculture department's chief, Dr. Rolando Platon, Ph.D. said the scientists were only sulking and worried because the institution will have a much reduced budget next year of only P100 million, down from P150 million this year. This year employees would no longer productivity pay and incentive bonuses; next year some employees may be retrenched.
