The Government yesterday banned the sale, consumption and gathering of shellfish in the whole of Manila Bay as two children became the first casualties of the red tide now sweeping the area. Health Secretary Carmencita Reodica said the ban imposed by the National Red Tide Task Force covers waters off Navotas, Bulacan, Pampanga, Cavite, Las Piñas, Parañaque and Bataan. The ban excluded shrimps, crabs, fish and squid.
