    Excerpt
With the looming closure of Boracay Island in Malay, Aklan on April 26, 2018, the Iloilo City Government is making sure its tourism facilities are ready to accommodate tourists who would opt to visit the city and province of Iloilo. One strategy to attract tourists that are occupying the mind of Iloilo City Mayor Jose Espinosa III is a weekend night market in the downtown area. “We should be ready. They are closing the island and even several flights to and from Kalibo and Caticlan were canceled, so, maybe the tourists will opt to visit Iloilo and nearby Guimaras,” said Mayor Jose Espinosa III, Apr. 10, 2018.
