A fast growing demand of the fish grouper (Epinephelus), locally known as inid or lapulapu, is presently being observe in the international market. This prompted the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center - Aquaculture Department (SEAFDEC-AQD) here to promote lapulapu production to prospective investors. Record furnished by the SEAFDEC showed that the lapulapu demand in Hong Kong alone posted an increase of more than 30 percent last year from its previous demand of 28,000.
