The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) on Thursday said the Philippine is looking at a more improved and globally competitive fisheries sector as it welcomes 2016 with a five-year national fisheries plan that is ready for implementation. Agriculture undersecretary and BFAR national director Asis Perez said the agency is set to launch the Comprehensive National Fisheries Industry Development Plan 2016- 2020 next month during the first National Fisheries Industry Summit at the Philippine Trade Training Center in Pasay City. " The CNFIDP 2016-2020 is a product of a consensus-building via three-part series of fisheries stakeholders' workshops in capture fisheries, aquaculture, post-harvest and, marketing subsectors.
