    Heavy rains brought by habagat, or southwest monsoon, caused P6 million worth of damage to crops and fisheries in various parts of Negros Occidental. A total of 501 farmers and fisherfolk in the city of Cadiz and the municipalities of Valladolid, San Enrique, and Hinigaran affected, a report from the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA) showed. As of Aug. 16, total production losses in 745. 49 hectares of farmlands and fishponds were at P6, 005, 287. 16.
